Professor of Practice for Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security)

1. Dr. Kumud Ranjan is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, specializing in Cyber Security. As a Semiconductor Scientist/Consultant with a Ph.D. from NTU-Singapore, he brings over 19 years of experience. His expertise spans compound semiconductor research & development, project management, international collaborations, technology business incubation, and technology consultancy. A former DRDO Scientist, Dr. Ranjan is a Semiconductor thought leader, specializing in GaN/SiC technology for Aerospace & Defense applications. His research at NTU focused on Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology crucial for high-power communication systems in Telecom, RADAR, satellite, 5G, and nuclear applications. He has authored/co-authored 60+ international journal and conference papers and collaborated with Nobel laureate Dr. Hiroshi Amano (2014) on GaN vertical diode development. Dr. Ranjan has also collaborated with renowned institutions globally, including MIT-USA, Ohio State-USA, GNS-New Zealand, Nagoya Univ-Japan, AIXaTECH GmbH-Germany, IME, A-STAR, and IMRE-Singapore.

2. Mr. Swapnil Shrivastava, a Professor of Practice in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), boasts over two decades of experience as a researcher, technologist, innovator, strategist, subject matter expert, and manager. Currently serving as a Platform Architect at the eHealth Research Centre (EHRC) in IIIT Bangalore, he is spearheading the conceptualization of the National Telemanas Platform, envisioned as the world’s largest Mental Health Repository. His extensive contributions at C-DAC include leading Applied Research Projects, Mission Mode Projects, and Turnkey Projects for diverse clients, ranging from DGF-World Bank to EPFO and UIDAI. Notable achievements include presenting innovative ideas in Big Data Analytics and providing technical consultancy to entities like BEL Indian Army and EPFO. With a robust academic presence, Mr. Shrivastava has authored 23 papers, chapters, keynote addresses, and tutorial sessions at events organized by IETE, IEEE, ACM, IGI, and Springer. Additionally, he has delivered 40 invited talks in various professional courses and workshops organized by reputable bodies and institutes.
