Photography Club Photography is an aesthetic art to capture beauty in life and nature. The photography club was established in 2015 with the objective of promoting amateur and professional Photography among students. The club covers various events taking place on the campus including celebration of Independence Day, Republic Day, Annual Social gathering, Spiritual discourses, Conferences and Workshops. Music Club Music is the language of soul. The college started Music Club in 1988 with the objective of encouraging musical talent among students. The club has emerged as an important platform for the students to showcase their talent of vocal and instrumental music. The club gives musical performances on Independence Day and Republic Day and on other such occasions. By inculcating love for music among students, college gives them an opportunity to participate in various competitions and musical programs at various levels. Students gave the performance of Indian and Western music with all shades and colours on 15th February 2016. Electronics Engineering Branch had the honour of winning music cup for this year. Mechanical Engineering branch had to be satisfied with 2nd position while Electronics and Communication backed the 3rd position. Activities through out the year. Music club ensures that each and every members of the club gets equal importance and exposure to various performances and a chance to rectify his/her mistake.In order to do this club has recently come up with the concept of ‘Weekly live’,an event conducted inside the club on the weekly basis where all the members perform .This ensures that everyone is given exposure and provided a platform to show their talent. The club is active throughtout the year and opoen to random jamming sessions inside the Music room (MB/03) The Music club gives major contribution to inter-band competitions across the city. Music club also has its own Youtube channel by the name ‘Music club rcoem’ and Instagram handle by the name ‘Music_club_rcoem’open to all for experiencing some of the performances given by the club throught events. Achievments Youth fests by RTMNU: Secured 1st position in western category(solo ) and 2nd in Classical vocal category in Yuvarang, an annual cultural event organiszed by RTMNU. Orignal compositions: Music club students have composed their own song (Aashiyan) for the club. Events of Pratishruti: Chinmay Pittule one of the drummers of the music club has secured best percussionist position this year.1st year form their own band called ‘Stardust Symphony’ ans also performed in the event called ‘Rattlehead’ a rock band event organiszed by S.R.C. T.V. reality shows: Members of the club have also showcased their talent on various reality shows such as Indian Idol ,Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Voice India 2. Rock bands and Concerts: Students have also paved their ways into well established bands such as –Legal sin,Greandioso,Sierra and 11th hour. Dance Club SRC in association with Department of Humanities started Dance Club in 2015 to promote and foster Dance among students. The club organizes dance workshops and prepares the students to represent the college in dance competitions at University, State and National Level. The club arranges dance performance to mark Independence Day and Republic Day in the college. Prof. Devishree R. It was established in the year 2015 and is currently active in the college under the mentorship of Prof Devishree Naidu who is the teacher incharge of the club. The club has been active in various cultural events conducted throughout the year in the college such as Aaruni, Pratishruti, Hackathon, and also on the Alumni Night. Apart from this, the club has been constantly performing in the college on Republic day and Independence Day. Basically, all the dance performances conducted in the college throughout the year are being managed by the Dance club The Dance Club also plays a role in supporting the students for various competitions such as University Trials and other fests in the city as well as in other cities. We currently are having 65+ students in the club and equal opportunities are provided to each of the club member The performances covered by the club includes various dance styles such as classical, Bollywood, hip hop and others. OBJECTIVE OF THE CLUB To nurture and explore the talent amongst all the students in the college and in the club. Concentrate on the development of an individual as well as the overall development of the club. ACHIEVEMENTS Yuvarang by RTMNU – Secured 2nd position in classical solo category and participated in Folk Group category in Yuvarang, an annual cultural event organised by RTMNU. Abhivyakti – •Secured 1st position in group category at an Online Dance Competition ‘Abhivyakti’ by IIIT, Nagpur. LAASYA – Secured 1st position in Duet category at a National Online Dance Competition ‘Laasya’ held by Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College, Nagpur. Pas-de-deux – Secured 1st position in Duet category at ‘Pas-de-deux’ held by IIIT Vadodara. IIIT Cultural Fest – Secured 1st position in Bolly-wood group category at IIIT Nagpur’s Cultural fest SB Jain college of engineering – Secured 1st position at SB Jain College, Nagpur on their annual fest in group category. AIESEC – Tied up with AIESEC, an international organization and performed in their various events in this year. Annual Report 2022-23 2021-22 DANCE CUP 2021 2019-20 2016-17 LAASYA – INTERCOLLEGIATE DANCE COMPETETION Laasya, an intercollegiate dance competition for girls was organized by Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College, Nagpur on 17th and 24th August, 2019 in Shraddha House and Vasantrao Deshpande hall.The competition took place in two rounds, solo and duet, and in three variants solo, duet and group. Twenty teams from institutions like M.K.H. Sancheti and others participated in the competition. Snehal Rathi (Industrial, 2nd year) participated in the solo round. Amongst the eight teams qualified for the finals, Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management came out as a winner in the group round adding feathers to the cap. Drama Club SRC in association with Department of Humanities started Drama Club in 2014 with the objective to provide platform to budding actors, script writers and stage directors. The club organises drama workshops and prepares the students to represent the college in drama competitions at University, State and National Leve l. Students showcase their dramatic skills by staging performance on the occasion of Independence Day, Republic Day and in Annual social gathering. Role No. is the show organized by the club in the odd semesters. The show consists of six short plays of multiple genres like thriller, romance, comedy, etc. It is majorly attended by the First-Year students of the college. The club members write, direct and act in the plays and perform effectively to the liking of their audience. With this show, the club primarily aims to acquaint First-Year students of the college with the working of the drama club which ultimately leads to them being interested in the dramatic arts. INDEPENDENCE DAY AND REPUBLIC DAY PERFORMANCES Every year, the Drama Club students perform under the cultural activities organized on Independence Day and Republic Day. Students present a patriotic theme based skits, short plays, mime acts to instill a sense of patriotism in the audience. QIRDAAR Qirdaar is the show organized by the club in the even semesters. It is done on larger production value as compared Role No., the show of odd semesters. It consists of six short plays of different genres. The second edition of Qirdaar was a first of its kind commercial show that was organized outside the college. This show, because of its sheer scale, invites large groups of audience members thereby proving to be a great platform for homegrown artists of the club. DRAMA CLUB ACHIEVEMENT Another Feather in the Cap of Nautanki- The Drama Club, RCOEM Ms. Shreshta Gole and Mr. Mukesh Thakur being appreciated by the General Secretary, the Principal and the other faculties of RCOEM. Mr. Mukesh Thakur, a student of Industrial Engineering, VI Semester and Ms. Shreshtha Gole, a student of IV Semester Electronics Engineering, of our college were selected to represent Nagpur University in 35th AIU National Youth Festival held at Amity University, Noida. In the Theatre Category, they bagged the 3rd prize in Mime and 4th position in Skit competition. They also secured 2nd position in the three categories: Skit, Mime and One- Act Play in Zonal Youth Festival held at Gwalior. Further to this, they also secured the 2nd position in StateYouth Festival held at Gadhchiroli district. Report 2022-23 DRAMA CUP 2021 DRAMA CLUB ACTIVITIES 2018-19 ROLE No. 2- (2018-19) The above picture is from one of the plays titled “LIC”. The actors who performed are Supril Singh, Joy Mukhopadhyay, Mayurima Kanzarkar, Himanshu Chandak, Shubhankar Kholkute, Harshada Sathawane& Radhika Sainani. It was directed by Harshada Sathawane& Rishabh Shukla and written by Shubhankar Kholkute. The play was a dramatic take on greed that exists in society. This picture is from the play “Dil Ki Pukaar”. The actors are Keshav Mohta, Gurbeer Singh Sokhi &Vaidehi Rai. It was directed by Sanskruti Bajoria and written by Ashwin Shukla. The entire play is a beautiful exchange of romantic poetry between two long lost lovers. INDEPENDENCE DAY 2018 The club performed on the Independence Day 2018. The club performed a skit on Bhagat Singh, the highly revered patriotic figure in the Indian Independence Movement. Actor Varun Lall essaying the role of Bhagat Singh in the skit. The entire cast of the play post-performance. The play brought tears in the eyes of the audience and was truly appreciated by the entire faculty members and students alike.Also, a non-verbal act (mime) was performed by the club members in addition to the play in order to pay respect to the Indian Army. CLUB ACTIVITIES IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-18 INDEPENDENCE DAY 2017 A street play depicting ‘Fight against Naxalism’ was performed on 15th August 2017. It portrayed how we have evolved in terms of technology and yet we are unable to eradicate evil social problems like Naxalism. ROLE NO. 1 Role No. is a show organized by the club during the odd semester. The first edition of the show took place on 29th August 2017 and consisted of four entertaining plays of different genres and a Mime. All the plays, as well as the Mime, were directed and performed by the members of the club. A still from the play called “Jholachaap”, an intriguing comedy play which posed some questions on what is ethically right and what isn’t. It was performed by Rishabh Shukla, Vishad Jain, and Vivek Thaware and was directed by Pranav Barbate. “The Dictionary Salesman”, a comedy whirlwind based on the unending misunderstandings within a family and how an outsider would react to such chaos. It was performed by Nishad Janefalkar, Sakshi Bhullar, Aman Paul, Nishigandha Gawande, and Nikita Sen and directed by Rajat Agarwal. The above picture is a still from “The Interview”, a comedy play based on a usual day in the office for a troubled interviewer which takes an unfortunately hilarious turn. It was performed by Rishabh Shukla, Punit Bhatia, Harshada Sathawane, Siddharth Gupta, Akshay Agarwal and directed by Saurabh Hardas. REPUBLIC DAY 2018 On the special eve of Republic Day on 26th January 2018, Drama Club presented a Mime highlighting ‘Women Empowerment’ and a musical skit based on communal unrest and its eventual worthlessness. Technical Club With a motive to provide a common platform for Interdisciplinary technical activities of the college, Technical Club was launched in 2015. The club consists of self-motivated students who gather together to come up with some or the other new and innovative ideas and work on them. It aims to technically strengthen the students by integrating their skills in the various fields of Engineering & Technology, so as to cope up with the highly competitive environment. This club works under the guidance of Prof. Prashant B. Shiwalkar, the Faculty Coordinator of the club. Many activities are conducted by the club in order to help the students explore and learn some skills which might help them in future. The club also aims competitions that are organized by other colleges, in which the students have performed exceptionally well. Introductory Session. The club conducts interactive sessions mainly for first years to assist them in their domain of interest. Even if the students have no idea what their interests are, they can explore all the domains and then can decide accordingly. There is only one requirement for joining the club, i.e., INTEREST IN ROBOTICS. We believe in a practical and interactive way of learning. Our club is divided into three committees: Teaching, Event and Social-Media, for the efficient and structured flow of the Club’s activities. Following topics were discussed during the webinar: College application process – changes that have taken place due to ongoing circumstances. How the campus has responded to COVID and how it is prepared to welcome new students for upcoming immediate intakes. The pandemic caused limited access to opportunities, how to build a strong application in this case. Wayne State University – Programs, scholarships offered, research and teaching assistantships. Guest lecture on “Big Data Analytics & Opportunities in SRH Hochschule Heidelberg, Germany Prof. Dr. Barbara Spric, Prof. Dr. Gerd Moeckel, and Prof. Dr. Ajinkya Prabhune, Faculty of SRH University Heidelberg, Germany delivered a lecture on Opportunities in Big data analytics on 2nd Dec 2019. During discussion with students, Prof. Dr. Barbara Spric have explained about their master’s program on Big data analytics, whereas Prof. Dr. Gerd Moeckel have explained about their master’s program in applied computer science. Prof. Dr. Ajinkya Prabhune discussed about their current projects, and requirements of man power in Industry. Total 12 students from different branches attended the programme. She has delivered the way of writing Statement of purpose (SOP), criteria to get admission and also discussed about total expenses and scholarships at WSU. Guest lecture on “Higher Education Opportunities in Arizona State University, US”   Mr. Deepraj Gahatraj, In-Country Admission Coordinator (India) at ASU had visited our college on 22nd Jan 2019 to guide the students about the career opportunities in ASU, US. Guest lecture on “Preparing Students Equipped with the State of Art Technologies with Appropriate Mix of Fundamentals”. In January 2018, Dr. Kanti Prasad [Professor/Founding Director, Microelectronics/VLSI Technology ,Electrical and Computer Engineering Department from University of Massachusetts Lowell] gave a guest lecture on “Preparing Students Equipped with the State of Art Technologies with Appropriate Mix of Fundamentals”. The main focus of his seminar was to strengthen the Engineering basics of the students i.e. to integrate fundamentals of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry which must be included compulsorily in all State-of-the-Art courses. Engineering students who are product of such integrated curricula will never become obsolete. Guest lecture on “Preparing Students Equipped with the State of Art Technologies with Appropriate Mix of Fundamentals”.
