About Programme B. Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) is a four years undergraduate course, designed to enable students to build intelligent machines, software, or applications with a cutting-edge combination of Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and Deep Learning technologies after equipping them with the basic fundamentals of Computer Science and Engineering. The objective is to provide students with the ability to propose resolutions for scientific, technical, and intricate real-world challenges. The aim is to foster the capacity to develop intelligent systems using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) methodologies across diverse disciplines, in order to address societal requirements. The objective is to foster a multidisciplinary approach to design and development. Application Areas The major focus of the programme is to create skilled engineers to innovate, design, think and provide intelligent solutions to problems in a variety of domains such as Education, healthcare, security, information forensics, Data virtualization, Agriculture, efficient transportation, smart cities and business applications, in various government and public sectors etc. Program Education Objectives: To be able to comprehend, understand and analyse Computer Science Engineering problems related to real life which can be better resolved by artificial intelligence and machine learning. To impart exhaustive knowledge of Computer Science Engineering, AI and Machine Learning to cater the industrial needs and excel in innovation and management fields by prediction analysis. To promote collaborative learning and spirit of team work through multidisciplinary AI based projects and diverse professional ethics. To inculcate a conviction to believe in self, impart professional and ethical attitude and nurture to be an effective team member, infuse leadership qualities, and build proficiency in soft skills and the abilities to relate engineering with the social, political and technical issues as per the current scenario. Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs): The ability to understand, analyse and demonstrate the knowledge of human cognition, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in terms of real world problems to meet the challenges of the future. The ability to develop computational knowledge and project development skills using innovative tools and techniques to solve problems in the areas related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Deep Learning. Programme Outcomes (POs): Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments. Courses on various application domain and advanced techniques are included such as : Information Retrieval, Biomedical Image Processing, Social network Analysis, Cyber Security Intelligence, Reinforcement learning, Cloud computing, Big data Analytics, Robotics, Game theory, Cognitive systems, Soft Computing. The programme offers an opportunity to assimilate the students by studying both foundational and experimental components of AI and ML. Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) are increasingly necessary to translate today’s exponentially growing data into direct business value. It illustrates how AI and ML fit in the data science ecosystem, and presents several real-world use cases that show how companies are implementing ML to maximize their business results. The Curriculum also covers human and ethical aspects through the courses like Cyber laws and Ethics in IT, Constitution of India, Environment Sciences, Business Communication for Engineers, Indian Traditional Knowledge etc. The programme offers one full semester industry internship facility to final year students to nurture and build professional, ethical and responsible citizen.

Since last three years the department has taken various steps towards campus placement to provide opportunities to students to do paid internships in Industries during their 8th Semester. We had Amazon, Goldman Sachs, VMWare, Hackererth, ZS Associates, BNY Mellon, Accops, Cognizant etc. recruited 103 students for six months internship. Students are getting stipend ranging from 10000 to 75000 per month during their internships. Till now total 390 offers are received by the CSE students from various industries. Presently 01 Full Time and 03 Part-time Ph.D. students are admitted under this scheme. RCOEM is the only private engineering institute in Vidarbha region to be selected for this scheme. The CSE department is a Recognized Research Centre of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University for Ph.D. research in the subject of Computer Science and Engineering under Engineering and Technology Faculty since January 2015. The outcomes of these projects are also used as end product by software industries and are integrated with products used by their clients.MOUs with companies like Oracle, Infosys, Accenture, GlobalLogic, Infocepts and WCL have brought the required support and training on the latest software products which has helped in bridging the gap between institution and industry.RCOEM is the partner college of Infosys for their Campus Connect initiative. CSE Department is the center for various activities of Campus Connect.The Department offers elective courses jointly developed by RCOEM and companies like Persistent, Infosys, GlobalLogic and Infocepts. The courses include Open Electives – Introduction to Mainframes by Infosys, Foundation of Business Intelligence by Infocepts, Nagpur and Android & Mobile Technology by GlobalLogic.Under RGSTC-TIFAC-MSME Internship Scheme, two teams were involved in development of modules – “Gate Automation using Arduino YUN” in association with Kratin Software Solutions (P) Ltd, and “Remote Meter Reading Automation” in association with RF Arrays Systems (P) Ltd., during May-June 2015.The group of students from the department has been selected for developing solutions to industry problems under RGSTC-TIFAC-MSME scheme. RCOEM NAGPUR STUDENT IS A WINNER OF HACKWITHINFY-2019 Sushant Kumar, a student of Final Year B. E., Department of Computer Science & Engineering has emerged a WINNER of HackWithInfy 2019 – a Coding Hackathon by Infosys, Ltd held on 16-19 August 2019 with cash prize of Rupees 2 Lakhs. CSI provides a platform for learning and networking to the students by conduction of various workshops, seminars, courses, and digital opportunities for development, exchanging knowledge and ideas. The membership of the Society is open to all professionals and students involved in the field of information and communication technology. The installation of CSI in the CSE department marks the beginning of the journey of knowledge for all the CSI student members. The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell is aimed to channelize the knowledge and the energy of youth towards becoming active partners in the economic development process. It catalyzes and promotes development of business idea by guiding and assisting the prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support system, information on technologies, etc, by organizing various workshops and seminars, throughout the academic session.
