International Collaborations

International Collaborations

With globalization and increasing need for international exposure to academia, RCOEM has forged ties with various universities of USA, UK and other countries. The primary aim of these collaborations is to foster advancement in teaching, research and academic collaboration and to create avenues for enhancing student and faculty experience, enhanced employability with development of curriculum, practical approach, soft skill development and creativity. The collaborations aim to achieve these through development of short term programs, sharing of best practices, innovative or creative concepts, and student and faculty exchange. Collaborative development of teaching and research methodology and continued education programs are also part of the collaboration.

Webinar on “Higher Education Opportunities in Wayne State University, USA”

Ms. Shraddha Singaurey, Recruitment Adviser – India, Office of International Programs, Wayne State University (WSU) delivered a webinar on 16 Feb 2021 to guide the students about the career opportunities in WSU, USA.

Following topics were discussed during the webinar:

  • College application process – changes that have taken place due to ongoing circumstances.
  • How the campus has responded to COVID and how it is prepared to welcome new students for upcoming immediate intakes.
  • The pandemic caused limited access to opportunities, how to build a strong application in this case.
  • Wayne State University – Programs, scholarships offered, research and teaching assistantships.

Guest lecture on “Big Data Analytics & Opportunities in SRH Hochschule Heidelberg, Germany

Prof. Dr. Barbara Spric, Prof. Dr. Gerd Moeckel, and Prof. Dr. Ajinkya Prabhune, Faculty of SRH University Heidelberg, Germany delivered a lecture on Opportunities in Big data analytics on 2nd Dec 2019. During discussion with students, Prof. Dr. Barbara Spric have explained about their master’s program on Big data analytics, whereas Prof. Dr. Gerd Moeckel have explained about their master’s program in applied computer science. Prof. Dr. Ajinkya Prabhune discussed about their current projects, and requirements of man power in Industry. Total 64 students from the Institute have attended the lecture.

Guest lecture on “Higher Education Opportunities in USA”

Ms. Aditi Lele, Education USA, USIEF, Mumbai had delivered a lecture on “Higher Education Opportunities in US” on 24th Sep 2019. The topics that were covered during the presentation include the application process, selection of universities, how to construct a good application, and financial aid options. Total 21 students from different branches attended the programme.

Ms. Prabhali Mazumdar, Country Representative, RMIT, Australia had visited our college on 23rd Feb 2019 to guide the students about the career opportunities in RMIT, Australia.
During discussion with students, She explained about various scholarships, tuition fees, total living cost, Internship and Job opportunities while pursuing M.S. Total 11 students from different branches attended the programme.

Guest lecture on “Higher Education Opportunities in Wayne State University, US”

Ms. Shreya Poddar, Manager, Education Client Engagement and In-Country Admission Coordinator (India) at WSU had visited our college on 15th Feb 2019 to guide the students about the career opportunities in WSU, US. She has delivered the way of writing Statement of purpose (SOP), criteria to get admission and also discussed about total expenses and scholarships at WSU. Total 32 students from different branches attended the programme.

Guest lecture on “Higher Education Opportunities in Arizona State University, US”

 

Mr. Deepraj Gahatraj, In-Country Admission Coordinator (India) at ASU had visited our college on 22nd Jan 2019 to guide the students about the career opportunities in ASU, US. Focus was on culture at ASU, Scholarships, Student internships, etc. Total 44 students from different branches attended the programme.

Guest lecture on “Preparing Students Equipped with the State of Art Technologies with Appropriate Mix of Fundamentals”.

In January 2018, Dr. Kanti Prasad [Professor/Founding Director, Microelectronics/VLSI Technology ,Electrical and Computer Engineering Department from University of Massachusetts Lowell] gave a guest lecture on “Preparing Students Equipped with the State of Art Technologies with Appropriate Mix of Fundamentals”. The main focus of his seminar was to strengthen the Engineering basics of the students i.e. to integrate fundamentals of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry which must be included compulsorily in all State-of-the-Art courses. Engineering students who are product of such integrated curricula will never become obsolete.
 
Guest lecture on “Preparing Students Equipped with the State of Art Technologies with Appropriate Mix of Fundamentals”. By Dr Kanti Prasad Under guidance cell for higher education (International) various activities are continuously conducted for motivating the students for MS abroad .The key foci of the cell is to provide complete guidance related to higher education in international universities, information related to exams like GRE, TOEFL, IELTS etc, writing SOP’s and LOR, Grade conversion etc depending upon the nature of University .Foreign language training is also imparted to students interested in foreign universities. The following events / activities were organized under this cell. Mr Rahul Batra –Antenna Design Engineer from Hirschman Car Communication, Germany gave a guest lecture on 23/12/2017 about German universities, career and study opportunities and life and culture in Germany.

On 30th January 2018 , Jenny Arkun [Country Manager –International Recruitment ] from University of Adelaide had visited RCOEM campus for “ Guest lecture on Higher Education opportunities in University of Adelaide” and around 35 students participated in the event . The event was organized by Guidance Cell for Higher Education –international under IQAC, RCOEM.

French Delegates from the Consulate were also invited for “Guest lecture on higher education opportunities in France”. Dr. Mrs. Sandrine Maximilien [Attachée for Science and Technology] and Ms Gaelle Lenhardt [Manager Campus France Indore ] from French Embassy briefed the students about – Summer programs, Mobility Exchange, short stay option, Scholarship programs etc . In India there are around 1000 plus French companies [like Renault Kiwi, Minatec, Robot Rosa etc] , scientific and R &D institutes [like Solvay ,Loreal etc] and scholarships [like Eiffel Scholarship and Raman and Charpak Scholarships etc]. They also encouraged the students to take international certification for French language from “Alliances Francaises” which provides French courses, official French exams (recognized by the French Ministry of Education). Campus France is a desk for students who aspire for higher studies in France, cafeteria, translations, tour of the city and any advice related to French speaking countries etc. Even after an hour full of interesting information, RCOEM students were ready for more and came up with lot of queries. The event was organized by Guidance Cell for Higher Education –international under IQAC, RCOEM.

DAAD –Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst visits RCOEM :February 28th 2018

The Representatives of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – Devi Arand, Honorary Director along with Dhanashree Deodhar, Information and Office Manager had visited the college on 28th February 2018 for a guest Lecture to guide the students about the career, study and research opportunities in Germany. They discussed in brief the education system for Masters in Germany which comprises of technical universities (TU9) and Fach-hochschulen. TU9 universities mainly focus on R&D while Fach-hochschulen are industry-oriented. The public universities mostly waiver the tuition fees while private universities may charge from 500 to 5000 Euros. The students were very interactive and some were also in process of applying to German universities. The session was indeed very informative! The event was organized by Guidance Cell for Higher Education –international under IQAC, RCOEM.

RCOEM students attended a short course on Computer Networking at Northumbria University, Newcastle, U.K. from 20th May to 27th May 2015 conducted by Prof. Mike Fitzgerald. The complete tour was organized and coordinated by Prof. Anish Goel from EC department.

RCOEM students visited UMASS Lowell, USA in June 2012 and undertook training on VLSI by a team of experienced resource persons headed by Prof. Kanti Prasad.  Prof. Nitin Narkhede from EC department RCOEM organized and coordinated the complete tour.

RCOEM IEEE students’ Branch in association with IEEE Bombay Section organised a guest lecture of Internationally renowned Dr. Monai Krairiksh from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang Bangkok, Thailand. Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management as a part of its commitment to provide world class technical education organised Dr. Monai Krairiksh guest lecture on “Remote Sensing of the Physical Qualities of Fruits.”

Mrs. Golda Malhotra, Coordinator – India, Sri Lanka and Nepal, Network N+I: Engineering Studies in France interacted with RCOEM students for upcoming applications to Engineering Institutes of Nplusi on 11th Feb. 2016.
Prof. Durga Mahdab Misra from NJIT, USA delivered a lecture on “More Moore or More than Moore: CMOS High-k Gate Stacks to Nanotechnology” at RCOEM on 6th Feb. 2016.
A lecture on “Microwave Circuit Packaging Fundamentals” by  Dr. Michael Heimlich, Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia was delivered on 21st October 2015,  at  RCOEM. Delegates from Macquarie also discussed about further collaboration with RCOEM.
Dr. Nirmala Shenoy, Professor in Networking Security and Systems Administration Department and Director – Lab for Wireless Networking and Security, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester NY, USA visited RCOEM to explore the possibility of collaborative research  work on 29th Sept. 2015.

Effective nurturing, boom and development of the scholars are considered as center values at our institute. This is of prime significance as it helps college students to broaden their character, meet the marketplace desires, and excel within the dynamic global environment.

With an enterprise to empower the students to grow to be property to the organizations and make contributions meaningfully to the complete international, college students are supported and facilitated via numerous functionality enhancement and improvement schemes. Capability enhancement of the students includes

  • Guidance for Competitive Examinations: Competitive exams formulate the basis for various civil services. It is also a necessary foundation to enroll for various higher degree courses in universities situated across the globe. Institute serves the requirements of the students who plan to pursue higher studies or are keen on joining civil services.
  • Soft Skills Development which take care of grooming the students on various components including verbal exchange competencies, presentation talents, crew paintings, networking, time control, motivation, self belief constructing, management capabilities, creative questioning and choice making and so forth.

The Student Training Program aims at providing multifaceted skills and leadership qualities to the budding engineers. Thus, helping them in their overall development and securing suitable placement. Institute has initiated this module to develop the right approach, attitude and skills among the students with an intention that they can meet the industry requirements. Students are encouraged to participate in various activities covering group discussion, personal interview, presentations etc. organized at the institute level.

Students of RCOEM are highly ambitious and after graduation many of them apply to foreign universities for Master’s Program. The college has a record breaking list of alumni’s who have pursued higher education from top universities of the world. To support this venture of students, college provides best possible guidance to students aiming for higher education from foreign universities. Students are provided complete counselling including university short-listing, Statement of Purpose preparation, Documents preparations, VISA documentation and VISA interview preparation.
Students also apply to partner universities (Universities having MOU with RCOEM) and the cell aims at fetching the best possible option for students in terms of financial aid and admission acceptance.
 
The international collaboration and higher education cell has various objectives that includes arranging students visits/exchange programmes at partner universities, faculty interaction/interchange programmes, organization of joint international conferences, collaborative research work for faculty members and exploring higher education and scholarship options for RCOEM students.
Students willing to pursue Higher Studies / Research Internship will register for the same. Aim is to guide, forward Information and resources to students. Also, aims to create a network of students applying for the same universities.
