Boy Hostel

Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur (RBU) offers excellent on-campus hostel facilities for students seeking residential accommodations. The boys’ hostel consists of two buildings with a capacity of approximately 493 students. Rooms are primarily double and triple occupancy, with a limited number of single occupancy rooms available.

Room allotment is based on a transparent policy:

  • Priority to students from the farthest locations from Nagpur.
  • In case of a tie in distance, allotment is based on academic merit.
  • Medical fitness is mandatory for hostel admission.

A dedicated internet line with 5 Mbps speed and a centralized server provides connectivity to all hostel

Amenities

The hostel offers a range of facilities to enhance students’ comfort and lifestyle, including:

  • Mess facility serving pure vegetarian meals.
  • Indoor & outdoor recreational activities such as chess, carrom, volleyball, and basketball.
  • Well-equipped gymnasium with a professional trainer available in morning and evening hours.

Medical Facilities

A separate hostel dispensary is available, where Dr. Ramanand Somani (M.B.B.S., F.C.G.P) provides regular check-ups and treatments for minor ailments. Consultation and medicines are free of charge.

In case of emergencies, students are transferred to specialized hospitals under medical supervision. The institute has tie-ups with a reputed insurance company for student health coverage and MoUs with four nearby hospitals for medical support.

Residence & Supervision

Students have designated accommodation within the hostel. The facility operates under round-the-clock supervision by caretakers and wardens, ensuring a clean, safe, and cheerful environment.

The boys’ hostel also includes a guest house with six air-conditioned rooms available for visitors.

Rules & Regulations

  • Students must maintain neat attire and respectful behaviour, avoiding disturbances.
  • Ragging, gambling, smoking, alcohol, and drugs are strictly prohibited, with violations resulting in expulsion.
  • Visitors require prior permission.
  • No parcel or food deliveries allowed after 10:30 PM.
  • Mandatory entry in the movement register for outings after college hours.
  • Students will have to vacate their room within 3 days after their summer examination.

Cancellation/Refund Rules-

A). Following rules will be applicable to the Students, where withdrawal from the hostel is accompanied by the withdrawal from the academic program-

  • Cancellation before the start date of the program-A full refund will be provided, minus a cancellation fees of Rs.10,000/-if a student decides to withdraw from the program prior to its start as per the academic calendar.
  • Cancellation within two months-A deduction of 20% and 40% of the hostel room rent shall be applicable for one and two months respectively, starting from(a)date of admission in the hostel or (b)Date of start of program as per the academic calendar, whichever is prior along with applicable mess charges. For this clause, any partial month will be considered as a full month.

B).Following rules will be applicable to the students, where withdrawal from the hostel is without withdrawing from the academic program-

  • Cancellation within Seven Days from the start date of the program-Students who wish to withdraw from the hostel without withdrawing from the academic program and submit their request within 7 days of the start of program as per academic calendar will be required to pay 10% of the total room rent amount and applicable mess charges. The remaining part of the room rent, mess deposit and entire hostel deposit would be refunded.
  • Cancellation after Seven days from the start date of the program-After seven days, no refund will be granted for room rent and out of the mess deposit the remaining amount after deduction of applicable mess charges along with entire hostel deposit would be refundable.

C)Expulsion from College/Hostel

  • No room rent refund will be provided. However, the remaining mess deposit and full hostel deposit will be refunded.
