National Level Technical Fest Organized

COLOSSEUM 15.0

The Information Technology department conducted the event “COLOSSEUM 15.0”- a technical event and cultural event, under Semicolon Tech Club (STC) of RCOEM during 7 and 8 February 2025. Dr. Anuj Jajoo, Senior Principal Consultant- Learning @ Cyber Security with Infosys Ltd. India was the chief guest for inaugural function. The event spanning two days consists of different competitions like Grandmaster’s Jeopardy, Infinity Quest, Maayajal, Mental Marathon etc. Dr. Jajoo conducted the Faculty seminar on “Neuro Cognitive Model of Learning and Development”.

The seminar was attended by faculty members from various departments, who actively participated in discussions and interactions. Dr. Jajoo commenced the session by introducing the neuro-cognitive model, explaining its significance in understanding learning and development processes.

The Infinity Quest was a thrilling multi-stage competition that challenged teams on problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic thinking. 52 students participated in the three-round event, inspired by the legendary Infinity Stones treasure hunt. The final round tested the best teams in an intense race to find the last stone, determining the winner. Mental Marathon 2.0 was an intense knowledge-based competition with 20 teams (5 participants each). The four-round contest covered diverse topics like Marvel Universe, Political Leaders, and Wonders of the World. The event concluded with the Ultimate Mind Race, where the highest-scoring team was crowned the champion. The competition tested participants’ intellect, strategy, and quick decision-making. Grandmaster’s Jeopardy The event featured a classic Jeopardy! format, testing participants’ knowledge in various categories such as history, science, pop culture, and literature. A total of 213 teams (2 participants each) registered, with 56 teams competing across 14 rounds. The game required strategic thinking, quick decision-making, and teamwork, keeping both participants and spectators engaged.

Colosseum 14.0, a premier Information Technology event, was successfully held on 5th April 2024. The event showcased a variety of intellectually stimulating and competitive activities, bringing together technology enthusiasts, programmers, and cybersecurity experts. The competition was structured to test the skills and expertise of participants in different domains of IT. Colosseum 14.0 successfully provided a platform for IT enthusiasts to demonstrate their technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and creative abilities. The event was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of innovation and competition among participants.

Events and Highlights:

1.Code Force:

Code Force was a thrilling competitive programming event that challenged participants with a series of algorithmic problems. Contestants showcased their coding skills, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in a high-pressure environment. The event witnessed fierce competition, with participants solving problems of varying difficulty levels within a limited time frame.

2.Capture the Flag(CTF):

Capture the Flag was a cybersecurity challenge where participants engaged in ethical hacking and cryptography-based puzzles. The event required contestants to demonstrate their penetration testing and vulnerability exploitation skills while adhering to ethical hacking principles. It was a highly engaging and strategic event that drew cybersecurity enthusiasts from various backgrounds.

3.Mental Marathon:

This event tested the analytical thinking and logical reasoning of participants. It consisted of brain-teasing puzzles, mathematical riddles, and problem-solving scenarios designed to challenge mental agility. The event was well-received, pushing contestants to think outside the box and apply their cognitive skills under time constraints.

4.Rodeo Lens:

Rodeo Lens was a unique event that combined creativity with technology. Participants were tasked with capturing and editing images using advanced digital tools, showcasing their proficiency in photography, digital art, and visual storytelling. The event encouraged artistic expression through technology and was a major attraction for creative minds.
