Alumni Meet

Session 2023-24

Department of Information Technology
March 20, 2023

 

The Department of Information Technology organized an online alumni meet on March 20, 2023, bringing together past and present members of the department. The event aimed to strengthen alumni relations, provide updates on departmental progress, and encourage alumni contributions toward academic and professional development.

The meeting commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Padma D. Adane, Head of the Department, who warmly welcomed the alumni and introduced them to the current faculty members. She presented a concise report highlighting the department’s recent activities, particularly those conducted in collaboration with alumni. She expressed gratitude for the continued support and mentorship provided by alumni, which significantly contributed to the successful placements of the current batch of students.

Alumni Contributions: A key focus of the meet was a discussion on the existing curriculum and industry trends. The alumni shared valuable insights on necessary updates to align the curriculum with evolving industry demands. Several alumni expressed their willingness to actively participate in curriculum revisions and bridge the gap between academia and industry. They assured their involvement in conducting guest lectures, hands-on workshops, and project mentorship to enhance students’ skill sets and career readiness.

Departmental Progress and Alumni Engagement: In his address, Dr. D. S. Adane, former Head of the Department, provided an overview of the department’s growth since the graduation of the first batch in 2005. He emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in fostering student success and encouraged them to stay connected with the department and the college alumni association. He appealed to the alumni to contribute in any capacity—whether through mentorship, internships, or networking opportunities—to support the professional growth of current students.

Release of Alumni Brochure:  As a token of recognition for the alumni network, the department released an Alumni Brochure (Online Mode), featuring details of 18 Batches. The initiative was well received, and the alumni appreciated the efforts taken to document their professional journeys.

To further strengthen the IT alumni network, the participants unanimously decided to improve alumni participation under the RACA IT Cell . The committee will facilitate better communication, coordinate alumni-led initiatives, and ensure continued engagement between alumni and the department.

Alumni's Interaction With students

Few alumni who were present physically, interacted with the students. The alumni appreciated the progress of the department and expressed their happiness at reconnecting with the department and their peers.

The online alumni meet successfully fostered meaningful discussions, reinforced alumni engagement, and laid the foundation for continued collaboration in shaping the future of the Department of Information Technology.

 

 

                             

Alumni Meet

Session 2021-22

Department of Information Technology
8th January 2022

An online alumni meet of the department was conducted on 8th January 2022. It was attended by 81 alumni from various batches. The meeting started with an address by Dr. Padma Adane, Head of the department. She introduced the current faculty to the alumni and presented a brief report of activities conducted by the department in collaboration with the alumni. She appreciated the efforts of all alumni mentors that were reflected in the placements of the current batch. Dr. Adane also acknowledged the contribution of the alumni in conducting the International Conference of Innovative Computing and Applications ICICA’21 (26th -27th November 2021). A detailed discussion on the current curriculum was also carried out.

 

An Alumni brochure, containing information of 350 alumni, was released on this occasion at the hands  of Dr. Rajesh Pande, Principal RCOEM.

  

Dr. Rajesh Pande, admired the efforts of the department in conducting the alumni meet and involving  the alumni in curricular and co-curricular activities for improvising the overall experience of the  student.

During the interaction the alumni stressed upon the need to revise the curriculum as per the industry  requirements and ensured to give their time for this. Few alumni also showed their interest in  mentoring the students in their skill set development through conduction of guest lectures, workshops  and guidance in projects. In order to further strengthen the IT alumni network, it was decided to form a  committee under the RACA. The interaction was followed by cultural presentation by the juniors.

Alumni Meet

Session 2020-21

Department of Information Technology
9th January 2021

An online alumni meet of 15 graduated batches of the department was conducted on 9th January 2021.  The event was presided by Dr. Rajesh Pande, Principal of the college. Dr. K. N. Agrawal, Director of  Ramdeobaba Alumni Connect Association (RACA) was also present on the occasion. 292 Alumni  registered for the event, of which 225 attended the meeting. Keeping in mind the social distancing  factor, 14 alumni were invited to attend the meeting offline.  

In his opening remarks, Dr. D. S. Adane, Head of the department, gave a brief progress report of the department since the first batch graduated in 2005. He also appealed to all the alumni to stay connected with the department and college alumni association and contribute, in whatever manner they can, in shaping the career of the juniors..

An Alumni brochure, containing information of 233 alumni, was released on this occasion at the hands of the dignitaries present.

To mark the occasion, a memento was presented, which, on behalf of all the alumni, was received by Ms. Poonam Battulwar (2006 Batch), Vice President, J. P. Morgan, Mumbai.

In his presidential address, Dr. Rajesh Pande, appreciated the efforts of the department in conducting, one of its kind, alumni meet and uniting graduates of 15 batches to their alma mater. He emphasized on the role of alumni in helping the college to achieve greater heights.

The highlight of the meet was the “Alumni Speak” section which was live interaction of the alumni from across the globe. The alumni pour out their hearts and shared their memorable moments in the college. They also emphasized the importance of learning the core concepts and appealed to all juniors to make most of their college life. Few alumni, present on the occasion, also shared their experiences.

To make the alumni revisit their college life, a fun activity was organized by II year and III year students. The alumni participated in the event whole heartedly and thanked the juniors for their efforts.
