SRKNEC boasts of excellent alumni strength in various industries, companies and departments in India and even abroad. The Training & Placement is highly supported by its teaching faculty of various departments and alumni, presently Prof. P.B. Kulkarni is Dean Training & Placement and Prof. Anupam Kher is Training & Placement Officer. The Training & Placement Department is in constant touch with various companies for imparting industrial training and campus placement. Every year a good number of companies visit the campus. Year after year the participating companies in the campus placement are increasing.
The placement policies and other related activities are handled by Dean T & P in consultation with the Principal and the college management. Various departments and their nominated placement coordinators are involved in the process of contacting companies for recruitment. Placement coordinators are counseling the students on one to one basis about their career aspirations and any related queries. The placement office handles all aspects of campus placements for the B.E./M.Tech & MCA students at SRKNEC Nagpur. The office is well equipped with excellent infrastructure to support every stage of the placement process.

INITIATIVES OF T & P DEPARTMENT

The Training and Placement department organized seminars for students to enlighten them about placement activities, general requirements of the companies and student queries were answered through an interactive session. It also undertook various programs in alliance with host faculty and guest faculty for the improvement of student’s general aptitude, communication skills and interview skills. Training and Placement department conducts special sessions for aptitude development of students.

Co-ordinated ‘IBM Rational Application Development’ Training Programme conducted on 6th to 8th August 2010 for Staff & Students.

ONLINE APTITUDE TEST

RKNEC has been pioneer for taking initiatives to start various activities in various fields. One such activity is ONLINE APTITUDE TEST. After previous year success, this facility for SRKNEC students was provided throughout the year. This test is a result of collaborative effort of Prof Ajay Agarwal, Prof Anupam Kher. and Prof Mrs Vrushali Karkare(CSE).
The test includes questions based on the following topics:
Antonym, Average, Coding – Decoding, Critical Reasoning, Cube Problems, Data interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Direction, Discount, Distance & Time, Divisibility, Equations, Evaluation, Family relationship, Interest, Logical Reasoning, Miscellaneous, Missing Number, Missing Term, Mixtures, Number Series, Odd Man Out, Percentage, Permutation & combination, Probability, Profit and loss, Puzzle, Ratio & proportion, Synonyms , Time & Work, Time and Distance, Vane Diagram, Word relationship, Word series etc.

This online Aptitude test is divided into three parts, namely

The test pattern is so selected that is followed by most of the companies visiting the campus for recruitment. It is helping the students to improve and to check their aptitude skills from time to time throughout the year. Test is designed in such way that every student get different set of questions from the inbuilt large question data bank. This test pattern and question bank are modified continuously keeping in mind the requirements of today’s IT as well as core companies.
The main interesting feature of this test is that once a student finishes the test, he/she receives a solved soft copy of his aptitude paper. This helps the students to further improve and learn the various shortcut techniques to solve various aptitude problems.
