M. Tech. in Structural Engineering (Full Time)

About programme

M. Tech. (Structural Engineering) is a two year full time programme offered by Civil Engineering Department. The programme started in year 2007 with the intake of 18 students. Programme is accredited by National Board of Accreditation for the period of 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19. The curriculum of the programme is revised on regular basis to meet the industry requirement. The curriculum broadly covers structural analysis, finite element method, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, advanced design of steel and RCC structures, design of high rise structures, design of prestressed concrete structures, etc. Curriculum also includes practical courses that provides exposure of commercial used analysis and design software’s like STAAD.pro, SAP, ANSYS, etc. Industry experts are involved in development of curriculum and guiding students. Workshops, seminars, training courses, lectures, etc. by industry experts are organized on regular basis to impart field knowledge. Programme also offers one year internship to industry to improve the employability of students.

Civil Engineering Department has well equipped laboratories available to students for performing regular practical and research work. Commercial software’s like STAAD.pro CONNECT Edition, STAAD Foundation, RAM Structural System, ProStructures, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, RM Bridge, ANSYS 11.0, SAP, etc. are available for students.

Programme Educational Objectives

  1. The Programme will prepare graduates to perform structural analysis and Steel/RCC design of various structural systems.
  2. The Programme will prepare graduates to take up industrial project and research work in the relevant domain

M. Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering (Part Time)

About programme

M. Tech. (Geotechnical Engineering) P.T. is a two & half year’s part time programme offered by Civil Engineering Department. The programme started in year 2001 with the intake of 15 students. The curriculum of the programme is revised on regular basis to meet the industry requirement. The curriculum broadly covers the analysis and designs of foundations, slopes, earth retaining structures, etc. alongwith their constructional features. Curriculum also includes practical courses that provide exposure to GEO5, Power GEOPAK, SACS Marine Enterprise, SACS Offshore Structure Enterprise, ANSYS 11.0 commercially used software’s for analysis and design of geotechnical structures. Industry experts and Academicians for renowned institutions are involved in the development of curriculum and to provide guidance to the students. Workshops, seminars, training courses, lectures, etc. by industry experts are organized on regular basis to impart field knowledge.
